Well another LAN has been and gone and it's time to see what ppl thought of it.
Sorry I had to leave early but work calls :/
I think the quiz was great, better set up than the last lan! Although a few more curveballs are needed to really get you thinking! Also I think that a gaming plan could of been good! We only got CoD4 + TF2 + L4D + BF1942 / DC with no sign of Risk, hidden, CoD5 + others........ Maybe a plan of a certain hour for a certain game and for ppl to make sure it's installed and ready to play pre the deadline. Also if anyone is playing a game / has an idea for a game just shout!!! someone will no doubt join in!!!
Food was great - Atmosphere was great - needs more games.
=D
What do you lot think of the LAN? _________________ C2Q 6600 : Shuttle SD37P2 : 8800GTS 512mb : 4gb GEIL : WD 500GB x4 : Lacie 1TB |

It was great to be back.
I agree that we could of used a few more games that everyone had. I was the only person who had a fully patched Company of Heroes . |

well that shouldent be a problem next time. I'll have all manner of crap once i sign up to usenet I might skive off college just to keep my queue longer than my phone number XD
Some form of strucure would be good, not too strict mind, as its nice to have freedom
I did notice the lack of risk, but that looks like it's been replaced by defcon
Finally, a fibreoptic interweb connection.
I finally get to have some sleep XD _________________ Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4

yeah was fun i agree more games needed.
i like the idea of a more structured gaming plan where every one plays the same game for a hour or so, the dedi serveres were dead most of the weekend.
anyway i enjoyed it (even playing tf2 which i hate with a passion).
will def turn up again
oh btw kimbie look at this
http://left4dead.wikia.com/wiki/Console_commands#Versus_Mode_for_the_Man_With_No_Friends
it worked on my home dedi lan got versus runing fine with 2 comps.
am looking into the cod waw issues now |

I'll definitely bring all the patches for CoH next time - and hopefully one of them wont be corrupted. Structure was tried during the first few events and it didn't really work as well as you'd think it might. |

Hello, was nice meeting you all.
Back in Middlesbrough now but still awake.
Enjoyed the weekend.
I think in terms of structure instead of saying 'all play this game at this time' perhaps organise small tournaments for a few of the popular games and spread them out a bit over the weekend with good intervals in the fixtures. Then you can have a bit of competition and scheduling but without constricting people and leaving people time to have a rest, play other games etc. Perhaps even small token prizes awarded for incentive.
Just a thought.
Anyway, thinking about coming back for the december LAN with a bit of luck and thanks all for the great weekend.

Sorry for the delay in posting but only just got my PC unpacked.
First off a very enjoyable weekend, to me it felt more like a social lan than a gaming lan.
It was nice to see some new faces, and some very old faces, and kudos to the Middlesbrough guys, i think they hold the recored now for longest distance traveled to the lan
We have tried a structured gaming plan before, but it was always held up by people not having the games installed, or not setup correctly, but granted that was some events ago when people still didnt know much about games etc.
The next event will be more structured due to what is in the planning for it, and I hope you guys will like what we are planning.
It was annoying that yet again Valve let us down with cocking things up, and yes would love a net connection there, but alas I dont think it is going to happen any time soon.
Also looking at the scores of the quiz I think the balance of questions was just about right, since every one was within a few points of each other, of course the next one might have to include some ZL history in it.
I also think the seating plan worked really well, granted in reality we had to turn one table but we will be doing a seating plan like that again, as it seemed to get more people to sign up, to get a seat.
So thanks to all of those you turned up and made it a great LAN, and to those who didnt turn up shame on you, you missed a corking good lan.
See you all at the next one. And if you have any questions, comments, suggestions either post them here, PM me, or grab me on MSN nikumba@hotmail.com or email nikumba@zombielan.co.uk
Cheers

Well hopefully next time we'll be able to get thoes maps for CoD4 working.
I'd like to play some of the mods for it as well. i managed to finde the gun game mob i love its its just the same as the CS one. Get 3 kills and you go up a gun but if you get knifed you do down a lvl and the knife guy goes up a lvl . would be fun to play that. |
